Depature and day one

I planned ahead this time and I started packing for this trip for almost a week in advance. I have anticipated the day of departure for almost eight months! The entire week before I left I was in a dream land. Continuously day dreaming about what was in store for me. Constantly looking up things to see and places to go on the internet. I hardly slept the night before we left and there was a big thunder storm before I went to bed and I went out on the balcony and contemplated the realization of the journey that I would embark on. Sunday morning Jay picked me up to take me to the airport, and I bid him and Bailey farewell. Everything went smoothly as far as the flights were concerned. I watched some movies, and attempted to get some sleep in with no luck. It's just too difficult for me to sleep on a plane. I was really hoping for a window seat so I could see the country's and ocean as we passed, but unfortunately I was a center isle seat on the flights to and fro. Upon our arrival we were all pretty exhausted and it felt like we had lost a day, because of the 6 hour time difference. It was quite disorienting. We checked into our dorm, and I was so excited to have my very own college dorm room. Very basic accomidations with no television or radio for two weeks, but I still loved it. I got a short 30 minute nap and we were off to find food. I had Thai food, and it was quite tasty. We then got our first experience with the London underground rail station, and I loved it. We went to a large station, where we all needed to use the bathrooms. The Toilet is actually the proper way to refer to it, and if you say restroom or bathroom you may get a strange look. We had to pay 30 pence to use them, and it was sort of an ordeal figuring out how to get the correct change and all. Finally we returned to the dorms and I got a 2 and a half hour nap. Then we walked over to a local pub where most of us ordered the fish and chips, and it was amazing. Notice the plate with the fry sauce is mine. I got to try my first pint of Long Bow cider too, yummerific.
